ALTARVIOLET is the latest project from Greta Hotmer, former lead singer and songwriter of The Moxy and Leo Moon. Fusing electronic soundscapes, analogue synths, and raw acoustic energy, ALTARVIOLET delivers music that’s equal parts nostalgic and futuristic—the kind you can dance, cry, and sing your face off to.

Greta’s career began in the indie rock scene, fronting The Moxy, whose high-energy sound caught the attention of Jackass’s Bam Margera, leading to a feature in Where The #$&% Is Santa? and a music video for Step Down. She later collaborated with Jess Margera and Neil Fallon (CLUTCH) on Thoughts & Prayers and Sovereign Eagle.

With ALTARVIOLET, Greta fully embraces cinematic synths, dark electro-pop, and witch house vibes, while still tapping into her singer-songwriter roots. She also composes for film and TV, specializing in epic, trailer-ready soundscapes inspired by everything from Terminator 2 to Broadway’s dramatic storytelling.

Greta has shared the stage with Young The Giant, The Sounds, CKY, INNERPARTYSYSTEM, The Color Fred (Taking Back Sunday), and Kill Hannah. With ALTARVIOLET, she continues to evolve—blending past and future to create a sound uniquely her own.
